I'm no teenage icon

collared blouse - urban outfitters (old)
mid wash denim shorts - miss selfridge
lace trim ankle socks (black) - topshop
millicent stud back boots (black) - topshop

For those of you that follow me on instagram (ohlittlered) you might have spotted me uploading quite a few sumptuous snaps of our last minute September BBQ at Jon's house this afternoon. The weather literally has been perfect for it and we've really loved just being able to make the most of our weekend together by slapping on a few chicken and lamb skewers onto the BBQ and filling up the cooler with Kopparberg Mixed Fruits Cider, lovely jubbly.

In all honesty it was even to hot today for these cut off denim shorts and this urban outfitters top but I couldn't bring myself to bare my milky white skin in a bikini top so I opted for popping in and out of the shade! Teamed up with my new topshop studded suede boots, which I have taken a strong fancy too and refuse to stop strutting up an down the patio like a loon, I find this is a great outfit to make a quick and easy transition to night out down the pub or cinema. Just add a leather jacket, opt for a darker red lip and some tights and voila! you're ready to go.

Hopefully the sunshine continues but I have heard rumours of heavy rain fall drawing in nearer the end of the weekend, boo! My boyfriend also told me to add that he thinks I look very confused in the second photo, as if I'm just staring and smiling but am not sure why. That's the most philosophical (probably, wrong word choice!) he's been in a while, he's such an oddball. I'm in fact just pulling off cliché fashion blogger poses, the standard leg cross, intense stare, look to the ground and smile at the grass like a loon, you know what I'm on about...

What have you been up to this weekend?

my top high street sale picks

Despite not having the money needed to on a massive sale shopping spree I have been repeatedly filling up virtual shopping baskets with my very nearly irresistible sale choices. I did snap up a few cheeky items but had to resist furthur temptation by clicking the the close tab button and compiling this blog post for yours truly instead  - enjoy!

Coral Cut Out Peplum Top £26 £15, Green Buntin Pearl Necklace £8.50 £4.25, Nude Square Toe Pumps £16 £10, Petite Ivory Cat Print Blouse £28 £15

Browsing through there have been plenty of really good bargains to be had in this years summer sale and as I gaze at my laptop screen as if it was something utterly delectable I do have to remind myself not to go too crazy! Nonetheless it's always a wonderful feeling finding something you previously wanted for half the price and therefore much more financially in my reach - you just can't say no.

Have you picked up any shockingly good sale goodies?

the animals went in two by two

denim boyfriend shirt - asos
plain black vest - miss selfridge
shorts - asos
necklace and ring - freedom jewellery via topshop
nails - french manicure
lips - mac costa chic

I was a wee bit naughty, yet again, and found myself browsing the asos website the other night for a few bits to spruce up my summer wardrobe. For any of you that know me, or follow me on twitter you will know that I'm quite the night owl, aka a very bored insomniac who shouldn't be left alone armed with her debit card at three in the morning. I'm blaming my oh so muddled up body clock and my addiction to late night 'revenge' episode marathons so it's acceptable, ssh it is.
I've been after a denim boyfriend shirt for ages and despite knowing that I could have probably picked myself a nice little number in my local charity my sleep deprived insania took over and I forked over a fair bit more at £35. Let this be a warning to you to hide your cards if you, like me, go on late night online shopping spree's! Despite this I love it and it's a very welcome edition to my wardrobe as are the alphabet animal print shorts I also picked up which can be worn casually, like in this outfit, or dressed up for a night out with a crop top as they are highwaisted. One thing I would point out is that if you're interested in buying these maybe pick up a size bigger. I bought a size 8 but they look and feel like a size 6 being a lot harder to squeeze over my not so tiny hips and leaving me feeling like I should have opted for a 10.

I had such a lovely day today and I've been really glad to see the sun putting its hat once again. This yoyo weather is driving me a bit mad as it's so difficult to choose what to wear with one minute of brilliant sunshine and the next you're facing downpours of rain and wind! I spent this afternoon sat in my dads garden with my Granddad, a finnicky old Irish man who seemed to be in the mood for sharing stories, most of which left my belly hurting from so much laughter. I love family days like that.

Ooh before I forget you may have noticed I've tinkled my blog design a tad and next stop is a better header so if any of you are good with photoshop let me know ;)

Let me know if you like these outfit of the day posts as I'm thinking of doing them more regularly!

weekend wishlist #2

weekend wishlist #2

                                                                             1,2,3,4,5

001: Beauty blogger favourite and hair heaven, I've been after Morrocan Oil Hair Treatment for quite some time as my tips could do with some hair salvation. However, I'm finding it hard to justify the hefty price tag, any alternatives?

002:  NARS is one of my all time favourite brands and my go to for blushes and so I've been really tempted to try out the new Miss Liberty highlight!

003: Another hyped up craze is the new Maybelline Color Tattoo's which are a great alternative to MAC Paint pots, I've spotted a few shades in my local superdrug and for a much more student friendly £4.99! I think these would act as great eye primers and have been lusting over Bronze on Bronze! (Official launch is in April!)

004: The UK has recently been delighted to wake up to brilliant sunshine and it's time to swap my boots for my flats, however upon browsing through my shoe collection I realised I was in dire need of sprucing up my flat collection! I've had my eye on these studded Vectra's from Topshop and a cheeky online purchase may be in order!

005: I've been feeling a bit nostalgic recently and reflecting upon the good old days of 'run outs' and sporting a fine pair of denim dungaree's. I really liked the quilted pattern on Miss Selfridges denim dungaree's.

What have you got your eye on at the moment?
