New In: Rayware Afternoon Tea Collection

I have a bit of a home decor/interiors addiction, with many hours spent browsing online boutiques, the racks of The Range, and awaiting deliveries from Dunelm Mill. My bank balance is weeping slightly, to say the least. I may have got a bit too caught up with buying bit's for a flat for me and the boy, a flat that we don't actually have yet may I add...

My newest decor crush has to be pastel and shabby chic kitchen crockery and bit's and bob's. I spotted this cream and pastel pink Rayware Afternoon Tea Collection, and fell in love. I didn't buy the whole collection as Jon is getting a bit concerned I may just transform our home a little bit too much on the girly side, oops! I picked up a couple of mugs, one for me and one for Jon, a cream milk jug, and my favourite item of the lot this adorable little tea pot. How cute is it?!

I am currently resisting picking up their dinnerware set and cake stand. What do you think the newest additions to my kitchen?

I'm off to enjoy a freshly brewed cuppa...bliss.

remember the little things

Sometimes we forget to take a step back and appreciate the little things in life, I mean hey, it's easily done. With all our ongoing 'dramas' whether it be school, university, or work, life has a way of keeping us all on our toes at one point or another. My great nan used to always say, "Lauren, don't forget the little things in life" - at the time this was just something I nodded at, and back then my main problems in life was that my pack lunch box didn't have as many good treats in than my friends....
So, here's a little post of some of the little things that are making me smile at the moment and that I would not normally appreciate, hope you enjoy!
A large mug of green tea, not only does it make me feel like my insides are getting a good ol' detox but it also fills my room with the most gorgeous minty scent. Mmm, my nostrils love this little treat.
Okay, so there's a bit of a theme going on here. I am trying to eat a lot healthier and only fill my body with goodness in the hope this will transpire on to my skin and hair. Yeo Valley Yoghurts are heavenly, I could quite easily sit and eat a whole tub in one sitting and in that way they are acting as a replacement to my much love Ben & Jerry's. What are your healthy eating treats?
Little touches of colour such as this Ikea pot plant never fail to brighten up my bedroom and this little shrub does make me smile, I must admit. Being fake as well I don't have to worry about keeping it alive, I have a bit of a reputation as a flower killer...
Every now and then I indulge and snap up a few new Essie shades from Boot's and this month's favourite has to be 'Ballet Slippers'. A gorgeous milky, pastel pink that I've been lusting after for quite some time and it's finally part of my collection, yay!
Interiors and decor posts have become a bit of an addictive read of mine for the past couple of months, I'm currently in the half-way stage of transforming my bedroom into the oasis I have envisioned. Wilkinson's have some great little decorative pieces and I picked up this silver mosaic tea light holder for around £5, bargain! Isn't it pretty?

What little things have brightened up your day recently?

New In: Homely Treasures

Ceramic Owl Money Box - Gifts & Pieces, Shabby Chic Floral Edge Chalk Board - E-bay, Red Floral Home Cushion - Gifts & Pieces, Stopped for Tea Framed Print - Gifts & Pieces

Home Decor posts have fast become so of my favourites to read, I love having a good old nose at how people decorate their bedrooms in particular. I'm always looking for inspiration for my own room as well as compiling dreamy wishlists for when I finally get my own flat. As I'm moving back home this Summer after finishing three years at Uni - how fast time flies! - I've decided to perk up my bedroom and add a touch more life and character to the place.
I've removed my bookcase and opted instead to ransack Ikea for over three hours, seriously I could live in that place. I'm currently setting up a monochrome wall cabinet display which will be my main storage for books, candles and cosmetics - being attached the wall also makes my room look a lot more spacious with no clutter and cabinets taking on floor space. My 21st is also coming up next month and, following my white furniture theme, my nan is going to buy me a new vanity and desk set up which I just can't wait for as my current oak desk sticks out against the rest of my decor.

Gifts & Pieces is a gorgeous little shop and online boutique that is home to a great range of decor treats and I had to resist getting one of everything! I particularly love the floral home cushion which has taken pride of place on my bed. The chalkboard is a cute little addition which I'm hoping to hook up next to my vanity and write to do lists and blog post ideas on which will come in handy.

Is anyone else on a bit of a spring cleaning kick? I'd love to see any of your decor posts, so leave links in the comments!
