17 Lip Stain in Berry Crush

I recently had a bit of a splurge in Boots and one of the items I picked up was 17 Berry Crush Lipstain after nearly half an hour of swatching different lip products and resulting in a lipstick rainbow all across my hand - I did get a few odd looks. I decided upon 17 lip stains as at £4.99 was a cheaper alternative to Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm and Stain range at £7.99 which I am yet to try.

I really love the concept of lipstain and balm duo as lip stains do have a tendency to be quite drying on the lips and attach more colour to rough patches on skin distributing unevenly which isn't exactly a flattering look.

Berry Crush does give a gorgeous wash of an rose pink with plum undertones as can be seen in the photo above, it does seem to make my lips seem fuller as well as adding that needed hydration as it is enriched with Vitamin C. However, the colour pay off is here and there as sometimes I have struggled to deposit much colour at all via the nib of the pen having to prod my lips using the sides of the applicator and then smooth over and even out with the lip balm. So, for me this product is very hit and miss as sometimes I have trouble distributing the product, but that might just be me? One thing I would attribute to it though is that once on it's extremely long lasting with wear for up seven to eight hours which I think is fantastic.

Overall, for less than a fiver when it does work for me it really does work and therefore is worth the money in terms of longevity and when you the colour pay off works.

Can you recommend any lip stain?

£100 asos challenge

£100 asos challenge

001. metallic playsuit with v front £38 - 002. trinity platform wedges £85  £34 - 003. Accessories: 1. Pieces Camma Ring £12 - 2. Cage Arm Cuff £12 £6 -  3. Just Acces Inor Bracelet £20 £10

£38 + £ £34 + £12 + £6 + £10 = £100

I've seen a fair few bloggers post their entries for The £100 ASOS Challenge Competition and having never been one to enter one of these competitions I thought 'why not give it a go' and this is the outfit I came up with that sums up to exactly £100 which is a lot harder than it looks to do, trust me.

The task was to piece together the hottest possible outfit you could for the allotted £100 budget and so I've gone for an evening outfit that hopes to dazzle and attract.

As the playsuit has quite a deep plunging v-neck I didn't need to accentuate the neckline and cleavage anymore so there was no need for a necklace although a cute silver pendant may do nicely there. I think for some this playsuit may be a bit daring but the combination of a metallic textured crepe fabric and gathered high waist are bang on trend and bound to place all eyes on you, this playsuit isn't for wallflowers. I've kept the colour scheme quite neutral, you don't need neon pinks and florals to stand out, with matching cream platform wedges which I had to resist buying even at their reduced price as I'm saving for a late holiday deal in September. I find wedges sooooo much more comfortable and easier to walk in as I'm no Victoria Beckham when it comes to trotting around in skyscraper heels.

For accessories I fell in love with the just acces inor bracelet as and ring combo as its understated yet extremely beautiful and its fragility is extremely feminine. On the other arm I would place the silver cage arm cuff and the teal stone of the camma ring adds a touch of colour that compliments the metallic playsuit and also resembles for me the yves saint laurent arty oval rings slightly but for a much cheaper price tag!

What do you think of this outfit? Is it something you would like to wear?

you better shape up

grey knot front shirt - topshop (sale)
leggings (disco pants) - american apparel
chunky knit cardigan - primark
 cream studded vectras - topshop
necklace - topshop (sale)
nails - barry m peach melba and barry m pink silver glitter

Luckily I grabbed this grey knot front shirt in the topshop sale for a very student friendly £7, I think it's since sold out and could only find the same style shirts in white and rose pink for £12 but I'm tempted to buy another in white.

The weather has yet again turned a miserable rain yet muggy mess and so my chunky knit cardigans and jumpers have temporarily been revived, this black cardigan being my all time favourite. I'm currently seething with jealousy as my boyfriend suns himself in sunny spain. The other night he saw Calvin Harris and next week they're seeing Example whilst I sit in my pyjamas watching disney movies, oh well tonight is girls night and I'm armed with a bottle of wine.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
