The Sunday Post: Rainy Day Dresses

Many times have I expressed my love of autumn but this year I've also had minor bouts of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) - not that I've been diagnosed with this disorder but I do have pangs of what can only be described as 'meh' and 'bleurgh' days due to the gloomy weather.

I normally love cosying up indoors whilst rain beats against the window but I really want to get out and about without getting drenched. In order to brighten my mood I opted for wearing this cobalt blue floral print collar dress* from Motel Rocks. I instantly felt lighter and chirpier and love the detailing with the collar and lace cuffs, and the shape is super flattering. I wore this dress to visit my Granddad in hospital today and hopefully it perked him up too! Now, I'm looking forward to a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings and some homemade lemon drizzle cake. Whose jealous? I would be.

Next week should be a hectic one with lot's of events and halloween makeup to be tested and a trip to H.O. HQ to visit my lovely Suzie B, so hopefully I'll pull myself out of this dull rutt I've been experiencing. Hope you all have had a lovely weekend and go gorge yourselves on Sunday treats, that's what I'll be doing for the remainder of the weekend...

What I Wore: Graduation

Stripe Crepe Shift Dress - Topshop
Rose Gold Watch - Michael Kors
Lipstick - MAC Ruby Woo

Three years have passed so quickly, I know there were moments I thought it would never end and I wouldn't graduate, but I've shown myself. The weather was beautiful, I whacked my pasty pins out, lacquered on the red lippy, and even got my hair cut after three years. Could you tell? I really like it, it's much more voluminous and healthy looking.

I did wear black wedge heels, and was praying to all the Gods that I would not trip on my way up to the podium, and bless my lucky stars I did not fall flat on my face as I have done in so many dreams recently.  I really loved my dress, it was floaty and simple, despite my dad referring to it as the Newcastle football strip all morning...

You can now call me Little Red BA Hons, squee!

they think they're from the sixties, but they were born in 1991

I know I keep harping on about how beautiful the weather has been, but it makes taking outfit snaps all the more fun. This post may be a bit photo hefty but Jon and I got a bit carried away taking pictures in the fields by my house. One downfall was the high pollen count, grrr hayfever is such a burden. My eyes kept watering and I was sneezing every five minutes, which made for some very dodgy looking outtake photo's let me tell you...

I start my internship at Gleam today which I couldn't be any more excited about. I've been counting down the days since my interview with them back in February. I'm looking forward to actually being productive again, and most of all being part of Team Gleam for as long as they will have me. Exciting times lie ahead. My dad is already chuckling at the thought of me commuting every day but it's not that far a trip and my kindle has been stock piled with good books to keep me occupied on the way home.

What do you think of my monochrome polka dot pinafore? I do love a pinafore, and this number from New Look is no exception.  It was a steal at £17 and I did feel very girly twirling around in it in the meadow. It would also be great to wear to work, so an all round winner!

and the walls kept tumbling down, in the city that we love

Dream Catcher Dress* - Mina UK

I thought I'd sport a more colourful number to brighten up the rainy/snowy Easter Weekend most of us in the UK are suffering with at the moment. I'm determined to get into a more spring like mood and have swapped my PJ's for this beautiful Dream Catcher Dress* from Mina UK. It's floaty, it's bright, and the aztec inspired pattern that runs down the front and around the sleeves just screams to be showered in sunshine - *fingers crossed!*

I've rearranged my wardrobe to feature some more Summer appropriate outfits in the hopes that the Sun will soon come back to us and cheer up this gloomy aura that has come along with yet more snow. When I opened this package all I could think about was getting away on holiday, getting my legs out and basking in the sunshine - is anyone else praying for this too?

As it's Easter weekend we've been doing a lot of baking, watching Disney movies, and generally just relaxing in our comfiest, and warmest, pj's we could find. I'm really looking forward to an Easter Sunday roast with all the trimmings, mmmmm....

What are you up to this Easter Weekend? I hope you have a good one!

What I Wore: 2012

01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09
I saw a few of these posts popping up and really liked the idea, I a huge fan of documenting every little thing that happens in my life, am always on twitter and instagramming silly little things (add me, i'm 'ohlittlered') and so why not my favourite outfit posts of 2012? All outfit posts are linked above if you want to know specific clothing details!

This year has zoooomed by, I feel like it was only April a month or so ago but now I find myself approaching my final term of uni, looking to move out properly on my own and begin the rest of my life out of education...eek! I haven't taken as many outfit posts as I would have liked this year and have only really started getting the hang of posing away just for this blogs benefit but they do make my favourite posts and so I hope to do a lot more in 2013. SO weird thinking it will be 2013, I'm getting old...
I want to become a bit more ambitious with my wardrobe next year. Think bold prints and maybe some more arm candy, I'm not the biggest advocate for jewellery. I normally don't bother taking outfit photo's because mostly I find my outfits being repeated or too boring to really show you. I live in my disco pants and baggy jumper and there's only so many of 'those' posts you can put up. I want to wear more trousers next year and grunge things up a bit, we will see!

Are you thinking of switching things up in your wardrobe come 2013?

Wishing you all a fabulous New Years whatever you're doing, see you next year!

I'm living on such sweet nothing

Dress - Pop Couture*
Millicent Stud Boots - topshop
bracelets - topshop
earrings - pop couture*
nails - models own Southern Lights & Blizzard
If you saw my post on the Pop Couture Event that I attended last week you will already know that they were generous enough to let us choose an item of our own to review. I chose this plush velvet, burgundy dress, and I absolutely love it, don't you?
Yes, so posing in it whilst we're experiencing minus degree weather, and in front of a very amused crowd just off Oxford Street, was more than just a little bit chilly especially with the waistline cut outs, but I had to show off the beautiful detailing. What I didn't manage to catch on camera is the black lace back with golden flecks which, together with the gold studded collar chain, help to complete this dress as a go to night out number. For £22 I think its a complete and utter bargain and I can't thank Pop Couture enough

I was hurrying around the glittering streets of London again last for Louise Thompson (from Made in Chelsea, for any reality tv junkies like myself) for Goddiva Fashion Launch but more on that in an upcoming post! It's beyond amazing witnessing my city in all its festive glory. Oxford Street was, as always at this time of year, brimming with tourists, shoppers, and locals all taking in the Christmassy atmosphere and I well and truly caught the festive bug - squeee! I even popped up my Christmas tree this evening, earliest its ever been up and all I have to say is bah humbug to it being bad luck, I like being keen, okay.

Are you getting into the Christmas Spirit this year? *plays Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas' on repeat..*

drops of jupiter in her hair

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket pc1
turtle neck tank crop top - pop couture*
skater skirt - topshopboots - topshop
spike drop earrings - pop couture*

This outfit somehow reminded me off sexy office chic which I have never ever pulled off and yes, I know, it's very grey, but I really like it. I absolutely adore the burgundy boots and they are mega comfortable, seriously walking in heels is a mean feat for me, I'm usually useless and am that girl you see carrying her heels home at the end of the night. Classy bird.

I want to take a moment to introduce to Pop Couture, I have got a post about them coming up shortly from their event I attended last night which was SO lovely - I met so many really lovely bloggers there and we all got chatting away so if you're reading this HEYYY! Pop Couture is home to some really gorgeous pieces and I've been browsing their site most of this afternoon after an early morning lecture, not only that but the price tag is a very warm welcome for us students. The earrings I'm wearing above are a very cheap and cheerful £3, bargain!

I've gone back to a more nude lip again recently after braving bolder lips for quite some time now I think it's time to strip back a little. What do you think?

We're not in Kansas anymore

Jacket - Miss Selfridges
Bobble Hat - topshop Mittens - primark
Dress - topshop Millicent Studded Boots - topshopj ewellery - delilah dust*
nails - ted baker*
Not the most glamorous and beautiful backdrop for a photo shoot but I quite like it against my how dolled up I am. Jemma took these snaps of me before we headed to the Motel Rocks Xmas Party in East London for a night of cocktails, pampering, and photo booth fun (wait, for my next post to see more!). I had a wonderful time and met so many lovely bloggers as well as singing a long to a collection of tunes - Lauren I'm looking at you!

The aztec print of this dress is what sealed the deal when handing over my card, it has a real wintery feel to it and I thought it was perfect for a Christmas party as well as a daytime dress. I am the biggest pansy when it comes to braving the cold so you might be able to tell in the shots of me without my trusty leather I am f-r-eeee-zingggg! I was forcing my poser face and literally hopped, skipped, and jumped back over to my mittens and hat as soon as I could.

After having such a good night it's always hard to come back down to reality and go back to typing up mundane essay's and religiously annotating text books but university calls so I best leave it here - who else is wishing it was the Christmas holidays already?
If you like the jewellery items be sure to check out Delilah Dust - there are plenty of gorgeous handmade items and you can use my discount code 'little red' for any purchase you make :)

Float down like Autumn Leaves

Dress - topshop Knitted jumper - primark
Jacket - Miss Selfridges
Bobble Hat - topshop necklace & bracelet - delilah dust*
studded millicent boots - topshop
Another week done and dusted and the day light hours are becoming increasingly less but I actually quite like the gloomy weather we've been having as it always makes me feel cosy when I'm wrapped up at home. However, snuggling up in my duvet is not on the agenda for me this weekend as I have a quite a busy time of it with my friend's 21st Fancy Dress Party tomorrow evening where I'm transforming, hopefully, into an elegant 1920's flapper. I'm more excited to see Jon's costume though as he's going all out as Thor from The Avengers donning a long blonde wig and everything!

I have mentioned Delilah Dust to you all before I am sure but I cannot reiterate enough how much I love Antonia's handmade pieces and for such a purse friendly price tag too which you can also reduce further still if you use my discount code 'little red'. I can't wait for my order to come through and the one off gem stone necklaces are my favourites.

What are you up to this weekend? Do you like my bobble hat, it caught quite a bit of attention from the old ladies sat outside Greggs!

we lost faith, in the arms of love

vintage knit jumper - the vintage set jeans - topshop leigh jeans
I recently stumbled upon online fashion store The Vintage Set and fell in love. An array of vintage items without the heart wrenching price tag that has become associated with the tag of 'vintage' recently. As soon as my order came through I couldn't wait to face the winter winds, proudly, and very snug indeed, wrapped up in this gorgeous grey knit jumper teamed with the cutest pearl button decorations and, of course, a collar neck. Ticked all my boxes!

I do love autumn/winter fashion and this has been a very welcome addition to my winter wardrobe, which is currently brimming with all shades of berry and khaki green alongside oversized jumpers and my trusty leather boots. Perfection.

One thing I do miss about the Summer, in regards to blogging, and especially blogging outfit posts, is the sunshine and chances to snap away in a pretty floral coated field or back garden. I'm finding it really hard to blog these days as now that I'm back at university time isn't always in my favour, especially when I return home at four and we've already been enveloped in darkness. Being back at my university house has also thrown a spanner in the works with where to take photo's, our garden being less than beautiful and lack of natural lighting being rife. But I will manage! I do apologise if picture quality has been less than average of late and hopefully I'll find some spare hours to wander around and find a more picturesque setting than that of my landing...

Rightio! Back to my box of Kleenex and mug of hot ribena, the winter flu has set in, boo! Anyone else suffering from the dreaded cold and cough?

autumn leaves under frozen souls

black knit jumper - primark
green leggings - river island (sale)
purple druzy necklace - delilah dust silver cross bracelet - delilah dust*
FINALLY a new outfit post is up, I'm really sorry for my lack of posts especially outfit one's, I am back at University now and struggling to get to grips with getting back into the routine of planning my time efficiently enough to get posts out more regularly whilst juggling dissertation and course essays. Not much fun let me tell you. I have been literally running around like a headless chicken trying to get back on track but I am actually really enjoying being back at University and having more productive ways to spend my day.

I did have a bit of a cheeky spend up when my loan arrived but I did tend to stick towards sale items like my new favourite dark green leggings that went down from £20 to £10 in the River Island sale, thanks Jon for your eagle eyed shop savvy skills! I also picked up the much talked about plum lippy sported by Cheryl Cole on X Factor which I've totally given up watching as it has become a bit of a farse in my opinion, thought it was meant to showcase people than can actually sing?
I love that cosy knit jumpers are making a very welcome re-appearance in my life, with the right accessories not much time is required to put together an outfit to be proud of and with time management being one of my top priorities these days I couldn't be happier. Now I think it's time to switch on the kettle, brew myself a tea, and relax with a good book and mellow music. Nothing beats a bit of time to unwind and snuggle up in the wintertime!

What do you do to wind down during the dark winter evenings?
